Life of the Party
I came across this article tonight on Wired magazine. It starts with looking at environmental aspects of causes of Parkinson's vs. genetic markers, which has sucked up the research money. Beginning with Camp Lejeune before expanding. Even geneticists are now saying only 5% of all diseases are purely genetics.
The other 95%?
Besides Parkinson’s, it touches on autism. I think like most, i thought the increase in diagnosis was due to better testing. But as pointed out in the article, whereas in the 70’s it was 1 in 10,000, now the diagnosis is 1 in 36. Better testing, to an extent, but they are researching flame retardant chemicals used in household furniture and automotive seats.

That is interesting. My daughters half sister in Juneau was 41 when she had a daughter with severe autism, non-verbal. My Aunt in Ojai, California passed with Parkinson's, not biologically related. Long story....

Dr. Peter Hotez, a virologist at Baylor College of Medicine, Houston, Texas has some interesting information since he has a daughter with autism. Interestingly, he has bumped heads with some well named people.

A form of Parkinsons affects us ex boxers who took too many head shots, too. Some call it TBI, but thats not what Michael J.Fox or Muhammad Ali would tell you.

PFAS chemicals are nasty things. And there's not much that can clean them up, so they end up in our groundwater, and then us..

I've got a cousin in his 40's who's non verbal autistic. Also has eidetic memory. Probably one of the best artists I've ever met.
