NFR Historical shenanigans in Idaho

Non-fishing related
Looking at a map, I noticed some bits in Idaho that has me wondering what kinds of shenanigans happened in this vast nothingness to have some names stick.

I could always look it up on the googles, but speculating with friends is more fun.

If I was doing the map I might put a little more distance between Comical Turn and Dickshooter. Although I guess not necessarily; depends on the details.

Also gotta say, halfway between Jordan Valley and Duck Valley is pretty close to Way the F*ck Out There. Good place for extra tires, etc.

I always liked this; The Triad is a 7520' triple summited peak adjacent to Eldorado first climbed by Dick Eilertsten, Dick Lowery, and Dick Scales in 1949. Quoting from Fred Becky's Cascade Alpine Guide Vol. 2:

"This party, three of whom had identical first names, called the formation The Three Dicks, but in the interest of good taste, a similar name was derived, one that would meet society's approval."

My old Montana hunting partner & I renamed our favorite areas, like:
Pretty Wood Park
The Cave
The Cemetary (We found a 21year old woodcutter's grave from the late 1800's. We carved a new marker and packed in some supplies to restore the gravesite the following summer. Someone thought a great deal of young O. Nelson when he passed back in 1886. It seemed the right thing to do.)
Blue Grotto
Joe's Canyon
Wet Boot Basin

I named a favorite Elk haunt out here also. Two Boots Crossing. I met a fellow bowhunter there one morning. He had forgotten one of his hip boots, so I packed him across on my back. We hunted together for several years.

What If we only want one Mahi ?
That's just crazy half glass full sorta thinking.

PLus it makes for a potential offensive dining companion, a culinary blasphemer.

What's next? Muffin topping? Leaving the barren cylindrical husk of the muffin for someone else?

When faced with a plateful of Iced VoVo would you scrape the good fondant, strawberry jam and coconut Vo off the top and leave the hard tack blandness of the Vo biscuit base for some bottom-dwelling carb-craving chump?

No, of course not. You need the twinned flavors, The dazzlingly obnoxiously frosted part of the Vo needs to contrast with the Fransciscan/hairshirt style penance of the brown biscuit/hard tack part of the Vo. It's like Laurel and Hardy, Abbot and Costello, Starsky and Hutch, Penn and Teller, Seigfried and Roy- one without the other is nothing.

The Mahi is always twinned with the second Mahi to wed the contrasting flavors, textures and so on. The second Mahi puts the you and me in umami.

In my bathroom I have the same product line but for what comes out the other end.

Why that's the kind of blasphemous rationale that would render Ho Hos without filling!
