I would have told you to try different keys also. I recall a time when a certain Skipper forgot the boat keys at home. As we sat in Garibaldi launch line we asked fellow fishermen if they had a spare key we could try. Although we didn't find a working key, it is pretty common to find one that works. Glad you broke into the seafood vault!

In skippers defense, his father in law dropped the boat off at his house without the key. Not that it excuses missing that in the pre flight inspection

Ding ding ding!

I grabbed one of my giant "key rings of mystery" and got to testing. Lo and behold, one of them worked! It was on a smaller ring of two similar keys and one worked, the other didn't.

I have no idea what these were originally for, but I know it wasn't this freezer. The in laws only had the one key and I explicitly remembering we were going to get a duplicate made so we didn't lose it like we just did

So, @PhilR, turns out you don't need to venture to Gresham today
