I guess this explains why a phone call to his number would not go through. That's what happened when I tried to call Bob Strobel a few months ago, which led to me getting a call from his son explaining that he had died. RIP OMJ. I'm glad we went to lunch last September when we had the chance.

Damn-the end of an era. His tell-it-like-it-is style will be missed, particularly in lieu of today's sugar coated PC blathering. A lovable curmudgeon, he would have been the town character in a western movie much like Jack Elam.

RIP Jim. I really enjoyed reading his grumpy posts....I guess I can relate. Unfortunately I never did get to meet him but had some great conversations when I redid his bamboo rod from Skip.....he was going to fish with it this spring....

As shitty as his passing is, at least he must have gone quickly rather than enduring a long illness.

This is also sad. I was going through my emails from Old Man looking for any gems. This is the very last PM he sent me here (but i didn’t see it because i left in January) .

His daughter, who i assume is the Melissa on Facebook was going to visit him this June and he was excited about it. Damn.
