Steve told me to not do it because he would never appreciate it.
Well, so my friend retired, and I presented him with his first bamboo rod to celebrate his retirement.
I restored an old 3 piece 8ft POS into a 6ft rod including a nice reel seat that I spun on my wood lathe.
and a nice set of Ray Lee hardware. She casted very nice with a 4WT.
Took him to a local west side lake and his first fish was this pig.
The fish really put up a battle, but she finally went into the net. I mean part of the fish went into the net.
He was skeptical with the short rod at first but was amazed by the performance and I think he successfully converted from plastic.
