Grimes Lake

One of the bigger rattlesnakes I’ve had the pleasure to meet right up close.

It wasn’t happy that I set my anchor down right on top of it. It’s a good thing they announce their presence.

I verified yesterday that the access into Grimes is open. Also the wind blows from the north when you row out the channel to the lake, and it blows from the south when you are trying to come back in.

Tail as old as time. You old guys always claim you had to walk uphill both ways!

Old guys = all directions "feel" like uphill (which explains the forward "lean" as we walk/shuffle/stumble along).

I first fished this lake a few years back with the old site member, Fish-n-Fella, and his friend Bob. What a great lake! It would be a shame to have no access.

Unless @Billy has heard something "new", I don't see why the lake won't open this year. I got a kick out of @Salmo_g's post about rowing into the wind to get out and rowing into the wind to get back - So true!

It didn't seem like a long term lease was put in place. So mainly was just curious. Like a lot of people it's a lake I don't get to fish a lot but it's always on my list.
