Great hand pump

I live on a lake and like to keep my rowing dory in the water, tied to my dock. But my boat cover doesn't work well unless the many straps go underneath the boat, which would be a PITA when the boat is floating. So when it rains, my boat fills with water. I had a kayak-sized hand bilge pump and would go out after rains and pump the boat out. It took forever, the angle/body mechanics were bad, and I hated it.

I just bought this larger pump and it is a huge improvement:

What used to take 15-20 minutes now takes five. We'll see how well it holds up over time, but I am very happy with it so far. Thought I'd share in case anyone else

I use a similar hand pump to bail out the drift boat after we take on a wave over the bow or after rain. My son when he was much younger named it the “huff-n-sniffer” based on the sound that it makes. I’ve had mine for 20+ years and it still works….
