I have been fortunate to be granted permission to hunt a pretty big cattle ranch not far from where I live. There was 6-7 miles of fence that needed to be checked last week. I was given the choice of ATV or horseback….duh! That is Sloan, he was my mount for the day. We became fast friends.
Just finished 4 days in Yellowstone. Wolves were the highlight, and impossible to miss the bison. Saw several grizzlies and black/cinnamon bears- mostly via binoculars. Here were my best shots-
We visited the park with non-angler friends, so I kept the rods at home. Many anglers on the fishable water. I enjoyed watching some cutts cruise the shallows at one of the hike-in lakes.
Had an interesting encounter at the river this morning.
I was standing in the river when I saw these.
Fishing on the Nooksack this morning I had some visitors stop by.
These guys liked the taste of my raincoat and licked it up pretty good.
What a glorious day.
On the way out I had the cruise set at 50mph, came over a rise after a curve, and before I could put my foot on the brake the new car was already on it. Freaking cool. I won't say that when it goes bad and I gotta fix it, but this might be really helpful some day in the dark.
Bullwinkle made a downtown appearance today. I probably should have posted this in the backyard wildlife thread. Technically he did was through several backyards.
