Good eats near PDX

Pizza? When I lived in Seattle I thought the best pizza in the state was at the North Lake Tavern near lake Union. But now that I live in the Couv the best in the state is Juliano's on Mill Plain about 156 ave which would be on your way from BGround to the airport area. It has reopened now. It was closed for several months due to a kitchen fire and I'm super glad it's back open now.

When in Portland, Kann is an excellent date-night option. https://kannrestaurant.com/

Reservations required though they do have a bar that might support walk-ins.

Firehouse as mentioned by @clarkman used to be another good choice though I haven’t been there in years. I think my brother’s friend is still the chef/owner. (Edit: just learned my brother’s friend sold it some years back so now = ?)

Kann is outstanding! love that place. I'm not in the SES group where I can enjoy it all that often, but it's so worth it.

I practically lived there back in my late teens i lived right across the street from julianos they changed hands a few times i believe, but i tell you what they don't skimp on putting the toppings on the pizza.
