This probably applies to golf as well.

I'm a gonna' plead ignorance. Is there some reason why a golfer can't play some PGA and some LIV? Or would that be like being a player for the Seahawks and the Rams at the same time? Are golfers "employees" of one of these tour organizations and therefore "owned" by the company. As you can see, I don't know shit about golf, couldn't tell a birdie from an eagle, but I know the difference in real life.
I imagine that one of the issues would be TV contracts and revenues. The PGA negotiates with the major networks for the rights to broadcast various tournaments. The value of a tournament in these negotiations with a network depends on expected viewership (ratings) and that depends in large part on the strength of the field. PGA golfers are required to play a certain number of tournaments a year (at least 16). The TV revenue funds the prize money (and the operation of the PGA). If some of the world's leading golfers are playing in competing tournaments, the PGA can't deliver the golfers that the networks would have expected to play. That will either hit the PGA in future negotiations or require a return of the some revenue in existing contracts.

Except for the "relaxing" part. Golf usually stops being relaxing seconds after the first tee shot. 😡
Then you are doing it wrong. Grab a stronger club than you need and swing easy. Quit trying to hit miracle shots from the rough and just get it back in the fairway. Most important of all, work on your chipping and lag putting.

My practice swings are perfect! The little white ball triggers my lizard brain into an attempted kill. Oddly, beer doesn't seem to help much.

I quit playing golf in my late 20’s when I became concerned that there was a link between playing it and ending up with erectile dysfunction. I can’t prove it but it didn‘t seem like a risk worth taking.

Could be due to the hideous plaid golf knickers.....or the withering look you'd get from potential mates when sporting such attire.
