So a few weeks ago I noticed a strange plant growing . Since then it has gotten huge and has 5 big melon things growing under some giant leaves . The stems have stickers on them like a blackberry bush but smaller. Neighbors are telling me they are pumpkins , I have my doubts. They are green with stripes. I have no idea how they got there. Some type of gourd ? Spores from space ?

Does your neighbor or you have a bird feeder? I've had sunflower and peanut volunteers show up I my yard. My neighbor has a bird feeder, so I assume the birds are bringing over the seed and nature is doing the rest.

Could be for sure.

Pumpkins start out green but more or less look like pumpkins so if they look like green pumpkins...it's a pumpkin plant
