Furthest Travel to Fish

We go to Loreto, supposedly not quite as good of fishing as Los Barrilles (I've heard, have not confirmed), but it's outstanding. I absolutely love everything about Loreto.
loreto is nice. do u have a specific guide ? we stayed on the beach down south of loreto for a few days.

Tierra Del Fuego 1985
Pan Am JFK / Buenos Aires R/T $389
Aerolineas BA / Viedma / Rio Gallegos / Ushuaia RT on a 14 day ticket $150+/-. Think Subway pass.
When you could knock / ask & fish for less than a second mortgage & first born and get by on $50 US/day.
It’s just me but the last couple times I’ve been down it’s lost its cache’. I’d rather spend two or three weeks in BA / Mendoza / Bariloche just embracing the culture and people….and the FOOD.

Loreto with Clark. Ready to go back.

Furthest is Oahu for bonefish. It’s stupid, I know, but friends invite me to house sit and I go mainly for the fishing and whale watching in season.

Furthest, by distance, was Vietnam. Family trip that I squeezed in some fishing.
I actually got to do some beach fishing off of the Vung Tau peninsula during several R&R trips in 1969. Cool place back then.

Well...a lot of places...most were fishing specific destinations, some I fished since I was traveling through or was not the primary reason to visit.

Alaska, Argentina, Baja (east cape), Belize, Bikini Atoll, Bora Bora (Tahiti) British Columbia, Costa Rica, Ebeye (Kwajalein), Eniwetok, Hawaii, Iceland, Majuro, Maldives, Montauk (NY), Okinawa, Panama, Teti'aroa (Tahiti), Wake Island, Whitsunday Islands (Australia), Yap.

And Molokai, where I lived 2 of my 43 years in Hawaii...and have fished on all of the major islands (including Kaho'olawe) except Ni'ihau...

But have you caught trout in Hawaii. I understand there are trout in a couple high mountain streams in Kaua"i.

Back when i was about 13 I would bike everywhere to fish for carp. One time I rode about 9 miles to get to the fishing. That's damn well near an Odyssean Journey to a 13-year-old

It was then I came to realize the journey is just as enjoyable as the destination

Ah who am I kidding, I learned very little about myself, the fish, my techniques, bicycling, or my friend who often and sometimes reluctantly went with me. Maybe except 9 miles is maximum radius to ride to fish for carp in summer with handlines and corn and still feel like it was worthwhile.
