Furthest Travel to Fish

A day in Italy, 3 separate10 day trips to Nicaragua for Tarpon
Italy was just a 1 day deal, but fun, the trip wasn't about fish.
Nica was all about fish..

New Zealand, (12 trips), Great Barrier Reef Australia, Russia, Norway a number of times and all over the Caribbean and Central and South America. Still can't sleep on an airplane.

Did a bit of fishing in Sweden, but not specifically a fishing trip.
Bahamas or Turks & Caicos on fishing trips.
Baja quite a few times.
SF

Sydney, AU.

It was a family trip actually that I built in a couple of guided fishing days into it. Totally worth it even during the "off-season"....those Aussie salmon were so damn fun on my Steffen glass 9wt. Plus, got a bonus skippy with the opera house in the background....can't complain about that! Plus, the estuary perch were some of the most technically difficult easy fish that I've ever encountered.

Cool. I’ll be in the stavanger area most of the time. My wife’s family come from two farming communities in the area. Lerbrekk and Tuksdal. Close to ocean too. Bryne is the local town. They have a lake and saw people fishing it but as I hiked around it there was so many bugs. Biting bugs. 😆

~11,000 miles one way to the outer atolls of Mauritius and Seychelles via airplane & boat rides. East and west Africa are not as far, but the complex logistics multiplies the travel fatigue. Don't get sick or injured!

....and buy travel insurance just in case....
Definitely get medical evacuation insurance like Global Rescue.

I don't always buy travel insurance. You really need to read the details of any policy to understand where it can help and when it is useless.

Yeah its insurance. .the fine print matters.

I always got medical evac...and made sure.

If you do buy travel insurance, purchase within 2 weeks of booking your trip. Shop for policies carefully, buy only what you are likely to need.

If you go to a sketchy area, make sure your insurance will bring your body home if you don't make it through...
If you care about that stuff.
🙂
