Fun day..

went to my local, no one around, set-up on a fave pool and soon after a 16 yr old teen shows up with his mom on spring break from AZ. He's nibbling the edges showing respect so I suggest he joins me on the ledge, and we begin hooking up...fun session for both of us, we each caught a handful of similar size fish. Lost a XL after the 6.5X parted...small perdigon with orange spot the hot fly. Mom snapped pics for both of us. A pleasure to have met both of them.

the young man was a fine fisherman, using a 4 wt Butterstick with a whole lot of give in the tip which really cushioned the tippet. Was interesting chatting with him about fishing AZ, one of his faves is sneaking onto golf courses with bigger water hazards which apparently hold bass up to 5#. Nice to see a teen enjoying the outdoors without a screen in his face...
