Took months for some crazy guy in a blue boat to talk me into building a Tenkara + rod.
Guess that makes me crazy too for accepting the challenge.
Found bamboo growing at one of my neighbors. Turned a fir rod handle on my small wood lathe and repurposed snake guides from an old rod, and 25 feet of floating line recycled from storage box.
Guess that makes me crazy and cheap.
Took Frankenkara+ to Tumwater for maiden journey on stockers. fished Indicator and size 16, 18 chironomids. Broke in the rod with 16 to the net and broke off 6 more. I found this fishing to be challenging and frustrating at times, but seriously mostly a real Hoot.
My other bamboo and Hardy stubbornly remained affixed to the left pontoon. Thought I could hear them crying a little throughout the day as they were invited to the party but not allowed to play.
