Found a couple of bass players this morning.

Took my youngest out to the lake last weekend. She wasn't hooking up on the jerk bait and we got to a grassy area. I handed her the weedless frog(what she caught her first bass on BTW). I hadn't been having any topwater success lately so I wasn't expecting much. I was talking her through being sure to pause in good looking water. I told her "Pause there!". BAM! Her frog gets gulped and she hooked him good. Her first bass for the year. Her very next cast BAM! Another bass about the same size. I quickly switched to a frog as well, but only hooked and lost one later.

I have been playing with my new 3D printer and finished off a few topwater plugs today. Hoping to test them Tuesday. I didn't have any tiny eye screws, so going with single hook for testing.

Given he's in SCPA, I'm wondering if the bass are recognizing that golden yellow as a small palomino trout....

And, ok, doing a whip finish with your fingers....

I have several of Carol's guitar tutors. She is a great musician who played on over 10,000 record, TV, and movie sessions. Above was from "Good Vibrations".
And upper left is Howard Roberts. I have one of his tutors too.
 
Well, the whopper plopper 3d print was a success! That lure landed four fish today and lost three really nice ones too. One definitely over 3lb. Plus a few blow ups that missed it. After loosing the big fish, I swapped hooks with another lure. It rode lower in the water and I had to change how to work it but it still caught fish. After my first two I gave that rod to my daughter while I threw the popping bug. Landed and missed a few on that too. Not bad for a half day effort before my dentist appointment.

I just ordered some more colorful filament and bought some components for version 2.0. I think I have some ideas for the hole ID being too small for the wire which required machining. The larger print is very close to the larger OG lure and wire fits fine. Maybe I will make a thread when my next creations come out. Printer has been a little temperamental also.
