Pretty common tranny in newer Ford pickup. Mine is a 2019 has 112k and getting some hard shifts especially in 1-4 when trans is cold. Did a fluid change & filter about 1k ago with all motorcraft parts. No change.

Anyone else having issues?

I built and raced a 2019 mustang with the 10r80 tranny same as in the F150.

Might not be your problem but....There is a known problem 2018-2023? fixed with revised CDF drum. The CDF drum bushing slips and plugs an oil hole kills pressure = hard shifts. There is no dash mil or code for CDF but you can pull codes with obd2 reader like OBDLink EX or MX+ that can use FORscan and look for related codes that strongly imply this has happened, Your should dealer knows this. look for error codes P2705, P0761, P2702, P0729-0735.

Seems like once it's up to temp most of the issues go away

But a lot of short 5-10 mile trips in my life

Highly recommend downloading Forscan, purchase a key, do a code read. Then a transmission relearn procedure. All at your fingers, not some sh!thead Ford dealer (dis)service department. Go from there… which truck model?

Had to fork out $10,000 just out of warranty on my 2019 if it’s the 10 speed. Gave me a 100,000 warranty on the new one why not the old one.

Any luck ? After we talked offline I dug more into that site I mentioned. Found more on my 6 spd but not much more on your 10.

Have you also tried the F150.com site?

Possible issues

Common Causes.

Adaptive Learning Errors: The transmission control module (TCM) stores shift adjustments that can become harsh or erratic over time.

Valve Body Debris: Tiny metal particles or varnish can clog the valve body, causing slow or violent gear engagement.

Low Fluid Level: Low transmission fluid reduces hydraulic pressure and causes rough shifts.

CDF Drum Failure: A slipped or worn inner sleeve in the CDF drum causes pressure leaks, leading to harsh lower-gear transitions and shift delays

Be sweet if it's just needing a re-learn, but at 112k probably something mechanical

If you need a rebuild....There are guys in your area who can do this less than and probably better than the dealership but check warranties. A dealer might give you a better one. I'm in SoCal and these guys have been very reliable by online reviews and I used them myself on my diesel truck that tows heavy, when I did not have the time to rebuild the gearbox myself. The job was perfect even the small details were done with care and precision. This gives you an idea on cost for a quality stock rebuild. Note the hot flush on reinstall. That's to clean out all the old lines and transmission cooler. It is super important if you have a transmission cooler to get any metal particles out of there that could destroy your new rebuild. If your trans cooler is up front and all nasty from rocks and things hitting it, then upon rebuild is the best time to get a new one. That guarantees max cooling and zero debris getting into your rebuilt gearbox.
