Hmmm, Dick Nite's #0 spoon is the right length. The JDM spoons can weigh as little as 0.017637 (1/56.7) to 0.0211644 (1/47.4) oz. I wonder how much the Nite spoons weigh? I suspect wider gape BL JDM hooks are superior to the #8 Eagle Claw, for $1 to $1.50 more per spoon.
 
Obviously, the artist in this shot never casted a fly rod. The bend on the rod indicates the forward part of the cast, but the line is completely in the wrong position.

Yup. Lots of folks have no idea that flyfishing is a specific form of angling. To them, fishing is fishing so the gear and garb in commercials and film doesn't always match the situation. After all, we are a niche group in the world of fishing. We are seriously outnumbered by spin anglers. You'd think someone in charge of costumes and props would do a little research but obviously, they don't. They'll show a guy with spin gear wearing a flyfishing vest with flies pinned to their hats.

I find it humorous.

And I see lots of women fly anglers in bikinis when I'm fishing. They are everywhere ! It's a good thing they never flub a cast. Guess that's one way to get a body part pierced.

Does anyone else watch Ozark? There were a few scenes where they were fly fishing that didn't look too realistic, but there are many instances where they're tying flies (directly, or you'll notice it in the background). The flies they are tying look pretty good, at least.

Yes, I do watch Ozark and you are correct. Question is, does the family die at the end?
 
While I haven't seen the show, I know they had a knowledgeable fly angler who works in the industry as an advisor for those scenes.

Porting this over from corporate. I've had several inquiries about the Wells Spoons that I use for Coho so I thought I'd put up a step by step on how I make them. Not being a fly I'm sure this won't be for everybody. These lures can be thrown with a fly rod and fly line, especially a spey rod...
