Spokane got absolutely sucker punched on Saturday night. What started out as a tiny fire about 2 miles south Northern Quest Casino mushroomed into a juggernaut aided by winds to 40 mph. It raced into Riverside St Park, ran up the West bank and then jumped over to the East side and into heavily wooded areas adjacent to dense neighborhoods
I have lived here the vast majority of my life and have NEVER seen a natural disaster like this one. Estimates range from 600-1000 houses burnt to the ground. Level 3 evac status has a big chunk of the NW side of the town
It's a fucked situation
To meet the need, we're starting a new fundraiser based on IG called #fliesforspokane. As of now, we have about 21 live auctions and dozens on the way and it's my hope that we raise $50,000 to benefit folks effected by this fire. All funds will be pledged to the Innovia Foundation Wildfire Relief Fund, which is based in Spokane

1. Host an auction on your page. Super super easy to do, and I can help you through it. Just determine what you want to offer (flies, gear, trips, art, whatever), end the auction 7 days after you start, use the hashtag in the body of your post, and if you want, invite me as a collaborator. This helps so much

3. Share the info on the fundraiser on your channels
