arrived to clear skies and pretty much no wind. the temp was 24 degrees - aka cold!
first cast and I catch a recent plant. and on the next 3 casts as well while close to the launches, so I hightailed it to the east side of the lake.
I started getting into the bigger fish. by bigger fish, I mean 12-15 inchers.
caught fish steadily thru out the day while moving around the lake. a leech pattern (olive green body and tail with purple flecks) worked well and fishing got better when I added a small hares ear in the afternoon. not many bugs around. saw a few small chiros and some spinners late in the afternoon.
fished till about 3:30 and while the sun was still above the ridge. shared the lake with 7 other boats.
fishing was slower today then 2 weeks ago and I attribute it to the colder temps. if you stay close to the launches you will catch 8 inch trout all day.
For Rex's pleasure I saw: a pheasant rooster, two deer, various ducks, great blue herons and grand herons on the rock hills.
probably done for the season on this lake. and I hope the fish winter over well and grow 10 inches!
