I have some friends that I don't talk to all year but when big bugs start showing up and I need rowing partners I start going through the rolodex.

It kind of goes something like

me: "You up?
partner: Yeah
me: DTF?
partner: Any eats?
me: Slow but it's about to turn on as soon as your get your ass up here
partner: Fine. On my way
me:

You ever find yourself doing this? What does your booty call look like?

I don't have any fishing friends. I tried to convert some of my tech bros, but it failed every time; they are indoor humans.

One of my colleagues drives an F-150 and was a carpenter, before he decided that he liked computers more and became an engineer. Recruitment is in progress. He is my last hope. I am optimistic that he could be the one.

I've found a quality fishing partner harder to find and qualify than quality romantic partners. Still looking for my perfect match.

My current buddy is great, hes like fishing with Matthew Mccaughnehey, brings weed to share and has never once been late. His only issue is hes a dedicated gear guy with as much interest in swinging a fly as I have in bobberdogging. However hes excellent at allowing me first crack at good swinging water, as I give him first shots at all the pools and deeper slots I cant fish as well.

We hook up a few times a year, always in the wee hours after sending each other some pics of our fish to let the other know that its on.

"Hey buddy, how's the fishing?"

Which translates to will you please take me fishing and row me down the river? Cool.

That photo is great. You can tell they are both serious anglers and will have a healthy relationship based around the pursuit of finned quarry.
