What could a guy expect fishing the Missouri River around Craig during the month of May?

That month the peak of insect activity?

Mother's Day caddis hatch.

Thinking of fishing there next May, looks like a prolific fishery with a mix of rainbow & browns available.

I've never been

The Mo has good numbers of nice size fish. Being a tailwater it is somewhat protected from spring tunoff but can still have rather high flows. If other area streams are blown out, all the guides head to the Mo, so probably avoid weekends.

BWOs. various mayflies, caddis, sow bugs, worms and streamers. Nymphing can be fantastic but look for noses.

If the river is up, a boat would be a bonus. Will you have a boat?

Yes a buddy here in town is a mostly retired fishing guide, has a nice Clackie. Over the years he has his system set up, he heads over there in May sets up camp and fishes with some older clients. I'd like take my two XP's over to fish 2 full days with him & hopefully catch some nice browns.
