Fishing license for 2026.

Picked up my new license at Wall Mart, I was handed at least 3 11. by 8 1/2, pieces of printer paper and was on my way. I fold the pages together and put them in my pocket and forgot about it until it was time to mark my catch. As I understand you must have your license and a writing pin on yourself while fishing for salmon? I’ve been dunked at least 3 times, so what is going to happen if I’m fallowing the rules, and take a dunk? Or left in my pants and my wife ask if I have anything to be washed, which she throws in to the washer license in pocket?

Ziplock bag. Or what Judy recommended (probably better)…

2nd the ziplock bag. Good place to put your pen as well. I keep mine on the inside pocket of my waders. I also got the punch card with the “no longer available” paper versus the plain copy paper. Must have been because I purchased my new license early.

If you didn't go e tag you are correct.

Having to carry 3 full sized sheets of water soluable paper folded Costanza style, and an easy to misplace pen would be annoying.

I looked at my freshwater license printed on the old paper a few days ago and saw that half the print has already faded away.
It has been kept in one of those plastic complimentary folders from Sportsmen's and hasn't ever been exposed to UV.
I guess I'll have to tell the warden to figure it out if I get checked.

Posting this from Baker Lake using starlink because there is no cell service here. When I shut off the starlink, I am unable to log in to either of the WDFW apps. It will be interesting tomorrow when the lake opens for sockeye. Bringing along pen and paper...

Good luck tomorrow.
