Fish porn, and bragging rights..

October 31st pretty much ends the fishing season for me. Most of the streams and lakes close, and the weather generally sucks until about March 1st. I'm not sure I caught enough fish this year, but sure got some nice ones! I kept a record this season of all the fish I caught over 20 inches (and released) in Washington, and Oregon... and the body count was 23. That's almost bragging rights! Here's a few of them..

@Pez Vela - March 1st can be really cold and often the lakes are still frozen around here but November 2nd? 40F when I woke up this morning, any ice that started to form (Lenore) should be melted (it rained last night).

Correct!

Bulls and Brookies are both char so they share a lot of similarities—like white lines on the fins. One thing they don’t share is size

I have not fished a lake since early July but I am looking forward to doing so once salmon and SRC are less abundant in the sound this winter.

Thanks for not mentioning that I got buck fever and fucking trout set the first musky to hit my fly that day.

whelp, do backwaters count? It's kinda like a small lake next to a large ass river....but, found this big-ass fucker there...tanker hunting on the flats in a Big C back water area.

Do a particular golden hued fish count? From a lake. He's not as big as the pic makes him look, but he was big enough. My guess was about 15. Even if it would have been 5 it was my best hookup all year. Long cast, little bit a luck (or as the carp guys say...zen) and a great fight. That's all we can ask for.
