OK, this is an odd one some of you may have seen already (don't ruin the fun here). But this fish ID has me a bit confused. Anyone with a 100% confident answer?

Spots are wrong to be a brown




The lake-dwelling coastal cutties can look like that. 100% my vote.

Well, apparently this is eastern WA. Spokane area I think. Brown trout.

I could see it being a cutty. If you look at Dave Westburg’s fish in the bamboo heading, the spotting looks similar.

The spots on the head, gill cover, and some on the body have the halo effect that is characteristic of brown trout. But most of the spots on the body are missing those halos, so either an atypical brown or cutthroat.
