So a fella was at an inspection a bit early today.
I do this most days, it was certaintly not a special consideration after I realized the client happened to be purchasing a house on a tiny, unknown local lake with no real public access.
Anyway, as I was working around the outside I happened to notice a small body of water in the back yard. As inspecting the grounds is a part of the job, I diligently strolled down to the bank with a pair of polarized glasses.
I'll be dipped if I didn't happen to notice a pair of rather large fish swimming right around the bank, well within casting distance from a lawn chair in the back yard.
The best part is this was no mansion. Just a simple honest house for regular folks. Just happens to come with private access to a bass pond.
So I put on my best friendly attitude, and casually mentioned there was a 5 wt in the truck when it seemed appropriate. The buyer is also fisherman, and seemed curious about fly fishing but non-commital.
I'm not sure if I have a next move here, but we'll leave this thread open just in case. Now a guy keeps thinking he'd better get one of those fish on the bank, you know, to make sure they aren't going to be a nuisance for the homeowners.
Let's take a stab at the species?
