First WA trout!

Got out early this morning and managed to fool this beautiful fish into eating the Frenchie… froze my toes off but that’s what you have to do I reckon. Only fish of the day but I’m quite happy because it’s my first fish living in WA since I moved here about 2 weeks ago. I’ve had a ton of help from people all over the place, especially Gig Harbor fly shop and @Ron McNeal. Cheers everyone!

Get some Hot Hands toe warmers. They last nearly all day. I wear a thin sock and a heavier one with the warmer sandwiched between.

Very cool! (in multiple ways)

Frenchie is such a useful fly.

I was thinking about that but wasn’t sure how they would do once they got wet. That sounds like a perfect solution, thank you!

Nice work! 🥳 Second the Hot Hands in a pinch. Cheap battery operated socks can make early season tubing much more enjoyable ($30-60). Don't get them wet though ;)

Whoa.... What a dark fish! Congrats on getn' your 1st Washington stillwater Trout. 👏🙌 Nice second post. Well done. (Now you need to get a stomach pump.)😜
