The problem is that there really isn't any comparison between these two fish. Different size, different habitats, different methods of fishing. Both fantastic fish. Just no way to pick one over the other. Some of these matchups make some sense in that they are somewhat similar in at least the way you fish for them. Not in this case.

Yup, a poll of sailfish versus yellowfin tuna, wahoo or striped marlin would have been interesting.

Agreed this one is kinda silly. Maybe I should have seeded it to have similar fish matched up instead of my ranking. I am surprised how often the matchups were pretty good.

I’ve only hooked a sailfish once in my life since they are relatively rare in HI waters…hooked one while casting surface plugs on a spinning rig for GT’s off a deep drop off along the reef in the Maldives…for about twenty seconds it was a lot of fun…
