Damn, another tough first round matchup.

Looks like TJ the "senior guide" holding that trigger.

I had so many failed attempts, I had given up. I didn't say as much, but he saw it in my eyes when he asked if I wanted to chase triggers for a while. He told me a story about a guy who came up from Australia to catch a trigger. He went the entire week without casting at a bonefish or anything else. The last afternoon he told TJ he just wanted to catch a fish - any fish. TJ convinced him to keep trying for his trigger. He finally got one. I hooked mine about 30 minutes later. I also caught it on the first flexo I ever tied - sitting at the dinner table the night before. I caught another the next day while fishing alone. Those flexos are a game changer when trying to get an eat from a trigger.

Also looks like a sweet Danielsson reel!

This one is turning out to be the biggest surprise for me so far. Anyone care to explain why they are voting for the bastard over triggers?

The Blue Bastard is a tremendous sight fishing challenge and a relatively new flats gamefish species. They are just as tough as spooky permit to entice. There is nothing wrong with Titan or Yellowmargin Triggerfish, they are great sight fishing fun but easier to target.

no really good reason for me, just never caught one and the challenge of them (according to YT videos) seems to be pretty cool....only triggers I've caught were in Baja. That said, these were really close for me.
