@Tom Butler fly bled some of the dye into the body portion, it looked really cool and fishy. Ill have to go back and look for that recipe to create the dye bleed.

The insect green/red became a brownish, very similar to the pheasant in a carey special. Maybe just swap out the insect green with a brownish material.
I used to use a pretty complex fly. A small red brass bead, white or yellow chenille, and a sparse marabou wing to match the body. Fished on a dry line and 9 foot leader. Worked well for crappie also.
