Fall BWOs on the Yakima

I hate trying to tie on a tiny fly in the midst of a hatch. I tie them on to like a foot of tippet at home with good light, and wrap it up on a page in a fly box for leaders like that. Then, just a double surgeon to tie the tippet to the existing leader.
I must have spent ten frustrating minutes yesterday trying to thread a size 20 with a thread crowded eye standing thigh deep in the river, while fish were gulping BWO's within ten feet of me...thnx for the tip

I get "buck fever" when trying to tie on a new fly in the middle of a hot hatch. It's as if I have never done this before - total fumble-fingers... :)
