Emerald Ash Borer

They are a major concern here in PA.

I sell hardwood lumber for work. On a commercial level, it's a real problem. In my lifetime (I'm 38) ash will most likely become and extinct specie on a wholesale level (traincars and truckloads). Similar to American chestnut, due to blight in the past/present. A true northern ash lumber is mostly a thing of the past. Kept for specialized uses only. We are down into Kentucky/Tennessee for being able to have a stable supply of Ash. Any further south, well it ain't no good. (It's barely considered good right now).

That's a bastard of a bug and one I have a hard time appreciating it's beauty. (Because I spend alot of time explaining new grading standards over and over lol)
