El Nino is definitely on its way

I have linked an interesting write up about what ocean indicators are being tracked by NOAA as they await the arrival of the impacts of the current El Nino on the West Coast. There's a discussion of the range extension of many of "exotics" (ie striped marlin, dorado) which actually is not connected with the current El Nino. Here's the link: NOAA

@Chucker - Thanks for sharing this news. Just when we thought it could not be worse it is far worse than expected. It's watchdogs like you and few others that find the right, in-depth, articles that are indeed "Jaw-Dropping"!

For true apples to apples relative comparisons of el nino strength across years, the climate change corrected data set should be used for the above figure.. I don't think the above is corrected data. it takes about half a degree off the red line above to really better compare temperature trends against the old El ninos. It's going to win for sure, it's just not quite as dramatic a difference as the above graphic shows.

The above is a great indication of just how warm the current world is though. The data is very clear.

If you are interested in the strength of the El Niño on its own, then you are correct, though I think the article said that the anomaly was 0.01 degrees away from the record in that data set in any case. However, from the point of view of impact on global climate, the uncorrected data is more relevant. It’s pretty scary either way!
 
They need to figure out how to stop it!! OR ELSE i'm advucating for a FULL POWER MULITIA EFFORT. get guys lined up 8-10 deep on the beach armed like they DID in Floriluda!!! FLORIDA!!

Stopped a HURRUCANE dead in its tracks!!! They all fired at the 'Cane and it didn't DAAAAARE come closer!!!! Didn't DAAAAARE!!!
