Echo Rod Nomenclature

Hey. Just picked up another Echo 3S rod. Wondering what the difference is between the E3S-ti 890-4 and an E3S 890-4x? Just the change from titanium stripping guides to classic? Is the "x" model after they softened the tip? Thanks.

I have both in 9 wt. The original “x” has a slightly stiffer tip than the revised Ti version. The difference is subtle, but noticeable if one geeks out on that sort of thing. The two tips are interchangeable (re: ferrule fit) on the second sections.
