SFR Dog owners warning

Sorta fishing-related
Currently Bothell- Kenmore area parks/trails. $500.00 for not having your dog on a leash at parks (where they must be leashed) … Wayne’s Golf Course, Blyth, etc.
Wife and I walk there lots, partly to enjoy seeing all the dogs (the well behaved ones anyway) as we lost ours a few years back. It’s pretty much a free for all with dogs flying around all over the place. It’s enjoyable watching them having fun but there’s always one or two…

$500 is a stiff fine.

Never been bitten huh?
Nope.. love dogs, and i am willing to defend myself if necessary .. I'd very very much rather be bitten than live in fear. Also my front door is unlocked most nights too I'd rather be shot by a burglar than live in fear.
Outside is for dogs... inside is for humans..

But yes I obey the rules even when I disagree with them..

Lucky you, a charmed life.
I’m not afraid of dogs either, trust them, any animal, more than I do people. I don’t fear them as you allude others do.
I have defended myself, my dog, my horses, from attack by an untrained dog. That’s what I alluded to in my post, people who don’t bother training their dog and it becomes a hazard
Just 2 days ago I had a dog charge us while I was training my dog on a public road.
I’ve seen it happen in campgrounds.

My boss literally had half his hand bitten off and one of his two dogs permanently crippled a few months ago by an unleashed dog. Leash laws are absolutely necessary in public spaces.
Agreed...
Too many fucking idiots out there with zero clue about how to handle, train and take care of dogs.
Unfortunately the Venn diagram has those types of owners with big aggressive dogs far too often.
Out here, the worst dog owners have the worst dogs...unsurprisingly.

Additionally I've had nothing but bad experiences with unleashed dogs when I'm trying to take my dogs out as well. No support from me on the topic of getting rid of leash laws.

There's a post on the local 'Karen' sites (Nextdoor, Facebook CommunityPages etc.) almost every week out here where some dog killed a chicken, bit another dog or a kid etc....or worse got hit by a car.
The leash law in the county is only a few years old, and still a lot of resentment, along with dead dogs.
# sad

While we didn't like them in the beginning and still may not, wearing seat belts reduces injuries and saves lives.

So does the use of leashes....

I’ve been bitten twice by my own dog who was on a leash.
Both times an unleashed little kick dog tried attacking our leashed husky. I made the conscious decision to put my leg in front of our dog trying to defend itself.
Twice was enough. Next time there will probably be a dead little unleashed kick dog.

A former boss lost both hands from a dog bite as he was breaking up his dog and another. He nearly died and was in a coma for 2 weeks, if you do get bit, go to the DRs to have it thoroughly cleaned!

I go to a dog park often so my guy can run and look for something, who knows what, as it is his favorite activity. I am often struck by how the poor behavior of some dogs closely mirrors the behavior of their owners. I don't believe it is the other way around.
