Do you get distracted?

In grade school was skipped a grade after the IQ tests they used to give, a disservice as I did not integrate well with older kids, struggled on memorization tests (cannot remember names for crap yet never forget a face) though I aced essays, was always restless in class.
Looking back and knowing what we know today, fairly certain I had non-diagnosed juvenile ADHD, as once teenage hormones kicked I became much more focused, grew a bunch physically, and became much more socially integrated. This is not untypical as the hormones generated during puberty resets both our endocrine system and our brain synapses, and behavioral issues present during pre-puberty will often ease up after puberty.
We're all a mixed cocktail of multi-generational DNA, and it's a roll of the dice which traits in that mix remain recessive or become dominant.

As noted above, my daughter understands her challenges and has developed her own pathway to make her a better person. I call her an 'evaluator'. She watches, listens, processes before she says much. One of her employer's criticisms is she does not say/participate enough aka 'toot her own horn'. BS! I would much rather have an employee that speaks up and adds value to the conversation than someone that speaks up to be heard or provide mis-information. One needs to understand the strengths of someone else and how to cultivate that...

Something my daughter said when she was young and has stuck with me: "I can not think straight - my mind is all curvy".
