Sorry to hear this. Hopefully it wasn't too much.
There were actually a few warnings about fake Simms sites on a couple of threads.
I bought this Android Auto wireless dongle, that is now on sale:
All but the very newest cars have wired Android Auto; you need to plug your phone into a dedicated USB port. But that port doesn't provide much power, so your phone can run down on road trips. This dongle lets me plug my phone into a real charging cord, or keep it in my pocket, and still have Google maps, GaiaGPS, or Spotify mirrored on my dashboard.
This only works for Android Auto, but I think Motorola makes another version for Apple Car play.

Bass Pro has a bunch of flies on sale at 25% off or more. I just picked up some 6-packs of MFC streamers at 25% off. BONUS -they double shipped 2 packs of dungeons. Got free half dozens in white and yellow!
along these lines, before i started tying, I would buy a lot of flies from sierra.com and always found them to be high quality and a deal.
From time to time, I still buy some--especially foam-y hopper situations--things i dont want to tie.

I started tying flies to save money about a year ago. So far so good - probably only in the negative about $500 or so. I'm sure I'll be up soon!
IMO the only way youre saving money is if your only tying euro nymphs.
I just threw out $hundreds of bug infested material. Been tying for 30 ish years and looking back I'm pretty sure I haven't saved anything.
Wouldn't argue against it though.

I was wondering about that. Seems like a rabbit hole I could easily go deep down and end up spending a lot of dough.
It’s a pretty unanimous consensus that you should never tie to save money. Tie because you enjoy it, you like to experiment and/or you can get the flies you want to fish commercially. The only way you’ll save money is if you only fish and tie a half dozen flies and just you just tie them over and over again and not constantly buying new materials.
