He’s RobinHood . He has to give these away. No way can anyone carry all of these around. He’ll keep one or two and gift the rest. I just want to know if he’ll wear tights when gifting like an elf … 😆
 
I ordered two larges and one small because I’m not a heathen like Jake ;) hehe kidding

I’m guessing they’ll be refunding orders, offering a discount code and reaming the web guy. If this was Simms or Farbank I might of ordered 10…

To be fair this will better their upload process for the future. One should not make changes without some automated error checking, especially on a Friday as you’re leaving work.

Dunno about the karma, but you’re welcome to your opinion. As for theft, it’s completely different. They set a price and posted the product on their website. I used their website, their ordering system, etc. I did everything they asked me to and paid what they asked. If that’s theft, than any time anyone ever purchased an item online for less than MSRP (sale, etc) they committed theft. It’s not my job or place to set prices on TridentFlyFishing.com, nor mine to question their prices.

If they don’t want to honor the deal, they can cancel the sale and refund me the shipping I paid--no hard feelings. If they want to honor the deal, they can send me the items.

We will just have to agree to disagree on this one. If you don't think you did anything wrong by exploiting an obvious glitch in their online ordering system and then publicizing it on the forum for others to exploit, well, we were raised with different values. Maybe it's technically not the same as stealing, but it certainly isn't honorable.

I appreciate your candor, willingness to call me out, and ability to disagree with civility. Someday perhaps we’ll meet and maybe you’ll find reason to reappraise me (or not—that’s cool), but either way I wish you good karma and good fishing.

Yeah, I got mine refunded, too.

I also got an email from them stating that they appreciated my interest in their products and suggested similar (not similar at all) items.

I guess there's no such thing as a free lunch, which is fine because unless it comes out of @Evan B 's kitchen, free sushi is usually suspect.
 
If I were them I would of offered a 10% discount in that email, it would of encouraged conversion w/o eating into topline that much. Especially given the proximity to typical sale events.

All these online [fly] fishing retailers are fighting for market share and some interesting tactics are being employed. Companies like MRFC w/ free shipping, and now free shipping over $10, Ashland Fly Shop had free shipping for a while, one had some gambling wheel (likely preprogrammed), some offer reward point incentives, etc. I find it all interesting to watch.

Honestly, the biggest incentive to get me to buy from any particular fly shop (online or in store) is if they have everything on my list. I hate having to make multiple orders from multiple shops paying ship twice etc.
 
I just got my refund email, which was neither much of a surprise or a disappointment.

While we’re on the subject, I’d just like to put in a plug to support your local fly shop. In fact, later today I’m going to start a thread on that very topic.
 
At online shopping sites no list price or $0 price indicates it is out of stock.
