@Josh came down for his first Columbia River dirtbag sesh. So far we have been fighting very strong winds. Hopefully Sunday morning is calmer.
He got to learn that coho are dicks.

Definitely not a tule. You start getting some upriver fish that are a bit dusky this time of year but cut just like a chrome one. Tules are long gone by now.Yes, coho are dicks. Not horribly dark chinook, looks like a Tule? but I can't smell through the screen. Definitely a keeper URB.
Awesome. Good to know there are still a few URBs around. The big adipose threw me.Definitely not a tule. You start getting some upriver fish that are a bit dusky this time of year but cut just like a chrome one. Tules are long gone by now.
Was good times regardless. But yeah, windy. And asshole coho. Nice and sunny tho.@Josh came down for his first Columbia River dirtbag sesh. So far we have been fighting very strong winds. Hopefully Sunday morning is calmer.

Cool to make my first appearance in the dead zone.
I got out last weekend and spent a few hours in my favorite stretch making a few passes before grabbing the fly rods and harassing carp.Time to move this thread back to the top.
Buddy of mine was out yesterday above the Sandy and caught a nice 18 lb. chinook and released a clipped steelhead. It's starting.....
Hey, That is my spot! Are the boaters still fighting with the bankies on Caterpillar Island?Fished Davis Bar and Caterpillar Island today. Not a lot of pressure and not a lot of catching. Skunked again. Saw four fish for about 20 boats.
P.S. I was in a North River off the Wing dam west end of Cat Island. No bankies at Caterpillar today.
Never had a problem with them in past seasons. Just stay away from their gear.
I was in my usual zone way up from there this morning and it was just as dead. Water temp of 64f thoughFished Bachelor Island today. Pressure was moderate. Saw a few fish netted but overall I'd rate it as slow. Water was at 71.5 degrees which probably caused the poor catching.
Upper end of the island was difficult today; lots of weeds and a stout east wind. Down lower around Warrior Rock was better.
