Bought this reel on E-bay for a bargain, $25. It's a Daiwa 731A, sized for 7# lines. It's in like new condition. It's interesting as it clicks for the drag, and is fairly stout, but is free reel on the return. No soft click return. Thing is a quality, well built reel. I really like these old Daiwa click-pawl reels. It's my fourth. Used it today with my beloved Fenwick glass 8', 6# for bluegills and it's a perfect match...20230731_152801.jpg20230731_152907.jpg20230731_153003.jpg

Who made that for Daiwa? The triangular handle looks just like the handle on my old JW Young Beaudex. Innards don't though.

Looks super solid!

Daiwa is actually very much a fly fishing brand in Europe. They have some pretty legit spey rods.
Yeah, I was aware of the TH rods. I didn't realize they made their own reels though. I love old stuff like this....that works!

Diawa and/or SA should really remake some of their classic clickers w/o changing a thing. The modern day clickers either suck or are overpriced.
And too light

Ya know, at first I thought you were selling it. Thanks for trip down memory lane, I haven't seen one of them in many many years
