RCF, we must be almost neighbors as I live in Maple Heights, close to Spring Lake. We have lots of wild space/animals in the Maple Heights/Lake Desire area.
Coyotes run outside our fence all the time. I was cutting the grass last summer and looked up to see one about 20' away from me just sitting on the other side of the fence watching me. We had a black bear in the driveway a few months back and I'm sure there are big cats around as deer are almost daily visitors and rabbits are plentiful. A friend who lives off Cedar Grove had three mountain lions on his porch last year.
My neighbor lets his Bichon Frise run loose in his backyard all the time. She's nice little dog and I worry that it's only a matter of time.
