Bless me, Father, for I have sinned....it's been two weeks since I last fished and my wading boots have dried out
....(I was raised Catholic so I can joke about stuff like this)
Anyway, the recent winds finally died down so I headed for a well known local lake. At first it was kinda slow and it took a while to find some fish but I lucked out and found a few fatties willing to play.
After a couple of smaller stockers from last fall, I happened upon this guy who was the best for the day....and although they weren't captured well, his colors were beautiful.

With access being limited currently, there were only a couple others on the lake and no one was anchored up doing chironomids...but I'm guessing they'd have done well cuz low and slow with this simple fly was the ticket.

I foul hooked this next one on the pectoral and until I figured that out my initial thought was I'd either gotten a scuba diver or an otter cuz it was putting a major bend in the rod and I couldn't control it.....but once it tired and things settled down it quickly became apparent as to what had happened, but it still turned out to be a nice fish.

and I even got to bust out the sunglasses
