Any hoop fans out there?

I watched my Gonzaga Bulldogs finally beat Purdue last night. The new PG Xaivian Lee was fantastic. He's gonna be fun to watch. Home grown Davis Fogle (Anacortes) also played well and had a team high 22 pts. He missed a couple bunnies, but is looking as good as hoped.
The real surprise for me was the Frenchman Nathan De Sousa. The dude is built, plays great on-ball D and had 4 assists in 17 minutes. Zags got dudes!

Coach Few was 0-5 vs Purdue. Glad he finally got the monkey off his back. I can't think of in a program that has a 5-1 record against Few.

Go Zags!

It will be interesting to see if NIL and the transfer portal will bring some parity to basketball like it has in football.

I think it already has in some ways. Look at AJ Dybantsa. #1 recruit in the country even though he reclassified up. He picked BYU, despite being recruited by a BUNCH of other schools that are ALL better basketball programs than BYU. Evidently, he wanted to play somewhere that didn't have off-the-court distractions. So I guess all the party schools were out. Haha! The $7M NIL deal with BYU probably helped as well. 😁
And those players that are just out of the draft (only 2 rounds), but good enough to play G-League can actually make more $$ in NIL than a contract in the G-League or even Europe so they stay for all 4 (now 5) years. Just 1 or 2 of these type of players, especially as 4th or 5th year seniors, can turn a decent mid-major team into a really good tourney team.
