Oh well...

Go Hoosiers !!!

Congrats to the Ducks!

Been reading estimated 15-20K empty seats at the orange bowl today. I don’t know but I did see a lot of empty seats. Not a great look.

Well it's always about the money, so if the G o 5 can cobble together enough sponsors and TV revenue, then there would be 2 concurrent playoffs at once, and another 8 bowl games of interest I suppose.
I remember the days when Oregon and Washington had awful teams even compared to WSU and UC Berkeley.

And Oregon is a great team simply because a very old and very rich man is a fan. If he dies without leaving a large pile of money to Oregon football they will once again become an awful team.

I always thought Cal and WSU were peers. They were NEVER going to be great football teams. Cal is never going to be a top 25 team on a consistent basis. The University is more concerned about their academic rating, than their football team rating.

On a related note, the Wall Street Journal just recently posted an article on NIL average salaries for college players. The QB's topped out at 3 million a year, I can't remember, but it looked like the average college football player was getting around 500,000 a year.

College football has a real problem. I am not sure they realize it yet.

Defenses wins games. Indiana has a great defense. Oregon showed they do too....

If Oregon and Indiana meet up, as they should, one helleva defensive battle forthcoming...

I noticed that also... And tickets were not that much either...

I'm going to enjoy my bowl of oranges, then go get a bowl full of peaches. A good defensive battle. A shutout against a good Texas Tech team was outstanding. I was a little miffed when we tried 4th and short plays when an easy 3 was available. I was bragging up our field goal kicker and must have jinxed him cuz just then he missed one. Atticus automaticus missed one. Hope the D is just as good next game.

As good as the T Tech defense was (Ducks should have had 40 points with all the picks/fumbles), O's Defense was spectacular...

Rose Bowl holds about 92k fans, and looks pretty full.

the sky is not falling...hopefully some of you can back away from the edge.

Really fun games to watch so far. Today's CFB is getting me to the television set a helluva a lot more than the crap where the champion was decide on by a ridiculous vote and often it was never the top two teams that played. Having a playoff, paying these kids (most of whom will barely sniff an NFL opportunity), top 12 teams (or hopefully soon to be 16....maybe cap it close to there) duking it out for the championship. AWESOME! Plus, nearly all of the top players are playing, which makes the football better. I'm a fan of how it's currently going.

Bye teams now 0-6. Hahahaha!
I love it. NCAA doesn't know what the hell they're doing. They're trying to create a March Madness type...thing for football. It will never work. The parity in football is ginormous compared to hoops. Apples & oranges!

CFB playoffs should be top 8 P5 teams max. No byes for anyone. 1vs 8, 2vs7, etc. The current method is flawed big-time.

Maybe NCAA should enable AI in their browser :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO:

The NCAA really has nothing to do with the current CFP. ESPN and the CFP selection committee are the ones steering the ship.
Follow the money. The NCAA is pretty much a powerless entity these days.

Well, this is the current governance of the CFP- https://collegefootballplayoff.com/sports/2019/4/3/governance.aspx

11 NCAA university presidents and chancellors make up the board.
10 NCAA conference commissioners and the Notre Dame AD make up the management committee.

So while I agree with your sentiment, the NCAA is ultimately responsible for the format and for allowing CFP and ESPN (Disney) to take over. Not surprised. They can't even figure out if a guy that signs an NBA contract can come back to college or not.

It's basically pro ball now.

Alabama fans gonna be screaming for a new coach if they don't score.
