College Football 2023

A great football game played by two very talented teams.

The huskies are getting healthy and yes getting McMillian back is huge but the return of the key defensive players (especially both safeties). # 91 on the D. line is a stud and while limited in number of plays when on the field he is a difference maker. Hopefully none of the players had significant injuries or setbacks, Dillion?. With a nearly a month until the next game so we may see a UW team as healthy as most of the year.

Hats off to the ducks, it takes two teams to make a great game.

Go Dawgs!

Regarding Penix as the best UW QB he is definetly on the upper end of a long list but UW has had some great passers/QB’s

Sonny Sixkiller
Warren Moon
Steve Pueller
Cody Pickett
Marques Tuiasosoppo, etc

….and some might say Penix is the second best left hander QB in UW history. Mark Brunell was pretty damn good.
It’s all subjective and as pointed out the game changes, you can’t compare stats of players of different eras. There was a time you could mug a receiver in open site and defend the pass without penalty and a good standard for a qb was completing 50% of his passes. And if a qb threw 30 times in a game that was insane. 200 yards passing was a 🤯 day.

Totally agree. Three yards, a cloud of dust and a possible knee surgery just isn’t the game any longer, though some teams do still rely on the run more than others.
I like that the Dawgs o-line was physical with the Ducks and ground out some tough yards on the ground. Johnson had a heck of a game, especially considering his foot injury.
Time of possession was huge with the Huskies owning it for nearly 14 minutes more than the Ducks.
If things go as expected today, they likely face a very physical, great rushing game team in Michigan.
Go Dawgs!

Haven't been this happy from a football game in a long time. UW coaching has been pretty incredible. Glad to see some humility, team love, and recognition from the players. I can't help but think that comes from coaching.
I liked the clip they showed of the kicker Grady Gross being awarded a scholarship after the Apple Cup victory. Sort of a “Rudy” story.

What a season for the Huskies! This team has been hampered by injuries most of the season and just flat out finds ways to win. DeBoer and Grubb are on another level of coaching, the defense stepped up huge.

The disrespect from the media and bias towards Oregon is f'n disgraceful going into this game, the Dawgs had enough of that shit and proved it on the field.

The media better start kissing ass, because this team is extremely dangerous on offense and the D is getting healthy and good enough to make crucial stops when they need to

Go Dawgs!

p.s I want Michigan!!!!

OR got the media nod for a good reason.. against the same 7 teams they both faced during the season, WA won by an average of 7 points, OR by an average of 27 points.
WA had a better game plan last night, their players were more ready, and they completed the final season and final game in the history of the now ended Pac 12 undefeated...respect

RIP P12

Tip of the cap to USC, a storied program. Looking forward to matching up with them in the future, along with UCLA in the B1G

Oh, and our bitter rival, the little brother Zero. The new Coug or Paper Tiger of the B1G

What? Think you better examine your source?

Leaf and cougs mid 90’s? 2000’s with Gesser

Desert storm wildcats?

Arizona St? Plummer team ? Van Raaphorst team ?

Not holding my breath, but wouldn’t it be great F St, Georgia and Michigan lost today…

Bama would be in, Texas and maybe Oregon?

Oregon isn’t getting in with two losses.

They might get consideration in barely losing to the same team at #4 & #3, including being in the Conference Championship over a 1 loss Ohio St that didn’t make their Conference Championship…and how could Ohio St leapfrog over a 1 loss Michigan when they lost to them?…

Food for thought

Wishful thinking, but not going to happen.
With the Huskies already in, there are now only three spots available.
They’d still be ranked under a one loss Georgia, Michigan, and Florida St should they all loss today which is highly unlikely. They’d also have to leap over Texas if they win today and likely a one loss Ohio St even though they didn’t play for a conference championship.
If they got in with two losses which has never happened before, it would be some seriously F’up fuzzy math.

You’re probably right…most likely Georgia getting in, with UDub 1, Texas 2, Bama 3 & Bulldogs 4…hate to have the Dawgs play a pissed off Georgia

That was surely an enjoyable game to watch. And in retrospect it was refreshing to see gracious winners who reacted with humility and none of the seemingly ever-present look-at-me-now chest thumping of our 21st century world. Yet another testament to the job done by the UW coaches and the creation of the culture they instilled and nurtured all the way to 13-0. Bring on whoever.

May guess for the final four are…
1. Georgia
2. Michigan
3. UW
4. Texas
That assumes Texas wins and Florida St loses. Texas should jump Ohio St since they will have won a conference championship.
If Florida St wins, they’ll be number 4.
Sounds like their backup QB may be doubtful for the game. I hope he can play.
If Florida St loses and Ohio St got number 4 over Texas, that would be total bs in my opinion.
