I kind of hope Tennessee wins for one reason

When we play them Nov 5 in Athens it could be a top 5 matchup and we'd get an opportunity to step on their faces with a hobnail boot and break their noses.

Nobody cares but me and I'll vent anyway... Not feeling too good about this weekend if Bryce isn't in the line-up 'cause I hate Tennessee...

Their colors are "like that puke color from the inside of a pumpkin and I don't like pumpkins..."

Gonna send Bryce Young a get well card right now!

Nobody's going to feel sorry for 'bama playing without Young. They would have lost to Texas if they hadn't injured Ewers with a questionable, maybe dirty hit.

Pfft... and as my PawPaw used to say "if a frawg had wings he wouldn't bump his ass when he lands".

Your powers of prognostication on what would have happened in 3 quarters of an unplayed college football game are amazing.

The only questionable part of that hit was whether it should even have been roughing the passer at all. It was barely worse than the silly RTP calls that we saw in the NFL last week.

I have no rooting interest for either team, but that Tennessee/ Alabama game with 100K+ fans would be a fun game to attend and watch in person.
Maybe buy a hat for each team and see how much free tailgate food and drink I could get. ;)

Yeah, it's a helluva rivalry. One of my best friends back in HS was a Tenn ex-pat and the trash talking this time of year was epic. I don't remember any actual fisticuffs but it was probably a near thing.

My other half is a UW Husky that was not into football and didn't go to games. I'm trying hard to wrangle a family trip back home to go to the Auburn game this year in Tuscaloosa so she can gain some background context into why I completely lose my mind on Saturdays in the fall.

Ewers injury was the story of the game. He was carving up bama's D with 134 yards in the 1st quarter. You don't have to be Nostradamus to see his injury as a factor in a 1-point game. The hit was late and excessive and warranted a penalty.

Auburn should have no head coach by then.
They might not by Sunday if they get waxed by Ole Miss.

You're gonna see what you want to see based on your predetermined bias. Same as me. The announcer of the game and plenty of others agree with me. An even greater number of Bama-haters are going to see it the other way regardless of the evidence.

However, you're mistaken on the reason for the call. The call was not because it was a late hit. The call was because the ref determined that Turner drove Ewers into the ground. Looking at the video, I don't see how Turner could have done anything else unless he has an anti-gravity belt. It's just like the shitty RTP call against the Chiefs last weekend.

Ewers is a great player but to predict that the remaining three quarters were going to be exactly like the first couple drives is a stretch. No one knows what would have happened but we do know what did happen. Texas played tough, is a better team than many thought and lost. Honestly, I don't know why people didn't see it coming - Sark is a great OC and know Alabama inside and out. There is no way it wasn't going to be close. I wish he was still at Bama. O'Brien is awful, the least innovative OC in a while.

Likewise - you don't see me saying things like "if Williams hadn't gotten hurt, we would have won the title as he was killing UGA's secondary just like we did in the SEC championship...".

Of course we will never agree on the penalty. However, you just wrote that you were concerned about this week's 'bama game without Bryce playing. So playing without a starting QB does matter. That said, for 'bama it often doesn't matter a lot because there's always another star waiting in the wings...

UW D was thin. They have had a few injuries and are being exposed. This is not the DC’s fault at this point. Give it a couple years. Trust this new coach and staff. I really like the things I’m seeing, it’s just some things are not being executed at the highest level due to our talent level. Maybe?

SMU just scored a touchdown against Navy.
Their horse mascot ran across the field and took a dump while doing so.
The game had to be delayed for the cleanup. 😂

A few years ago, a co-worker of mine and his son went to the Iron Bowl. Don't remember which school hosted. He had a great time.
