So is Shawn stuck at the lake? Do we need to mount a rescue in three weeks or so?

Any intel concerning the "back way"?
Wow - You have two nearly identical jeeps, one 2 door and one 4 door, with sequential nearly matching license plates, (the last digit is different). Pretty cool.

I was up there and came out on Saturday, May 14 and the grade was in good shape. I have some friends that are still there so I will ask about the current status. (tho I trust Shawn with everything except the weather). 
Roper is correct, the back way still had lots of snow when I was there.
I was there May 6 - 13 and it was COLD. We had every form of solid precipitation from snow to sleet to hail. And the W.......
I had tenters on both sides of me and both camps reported that their tent zippers were frozen on Friday morning after a huge rain and 30ish degree night.
The fishing was good when one could get on the lake. Chironomids were spotty for me and the mayfly hatches were not yet consistent. I used a full sink at times and did really well on that. The fish are healthy and strong. The camps where not full when I was there and the scenery is still one of my absolute favorite settings. The logging operation is complete other than planned seeding at the cut zone. Then the DNR will pull out the bridges to the logging road.
I wish I was still up there, even if I was stuck there.

My buddy that is currently at Chopaka informs me that the slide from a couple of days ago was cleared that afternoon.
However, Sasquatch has been pillaging camps, the rattle snakes got very active this week, and the W is non stop at 32 mph. So best not think about going to Chopaka.
