@Pink Nighty
When I was working in the Charleston SC area, several of the stop n robs and a few tackle shops had bait vending machines. Even The Charleston Angler was toying with the idea of a fly and tackle vending unit at one point. That was 13 years ago. Not sure if any of that holds true now and do know Charleston Angler closed up

Never did understand why these fuel docks even NEED someone there to open it. The marina across the river from me in Camas has a self-serve fuel dock that seems to operate just fine. Having a credit card-activated pump where captains can fuel up 24/7 just makes way more sense to me. (I get there are "class 4 fueling facility regulations and spill risks... but still..)

That’s a sweet ride. A walk around pilot house is the ultimate PNW rough water, offshore fly fishing boat. Can only imagine how well that will ride with an extra 5-6 ft of length.

Time of departure has been a bone of contention with me for many years lol. If it were up to me, Id leave super early. Unfortunately for the last many years I have been outvoted by the owners and rest of the crew.

This year all such decisions will be mine to make and I'm stoked. The single most stressful part of tuna trips for me is fuel dock hours. Seriously this stresses me out to no end. I have no choice but to be back in time to make fuel, but I hate how that limits fishing time, especially on those days when the water isn't as nice or I have to run significantly further. Being able to leave earlier will be so nice in alleviating some of that stress for me.

It sounds cheesy, but I truly want to give the people that come out with me the absolute best experience possible, and to me time available to fish goes right along with that. Being able to squeeze in a bit more time out there will be very nice.
I’ll be seeing you on July 7th at 0400hr not going albacore on the fly this year, but looking forward to fishing with you at the helm.

I’m late to this news Nick, but am very happy to hear you are continuing out of Westport! I was fishing with my son for SRC in the sound this past weekend and thinking about you. Do you still guide in Puget Sound outside of summer tuna season?
