Well, with the Snohomish tributaries all closed which are closest to where I live I've been heading east of the mountains staying with extended family to do my small stream fishing. Hopefully we get a later season on those tributaries but for now I'm burning a little extra gas. Thrown in a couple early season high lakes and one stocking trip but have been focusing on the skinny water. The last few days were exceptionally good and scenic.
The first day was quite a slog, 17.5 miles total but just a bit over 1800 in elevation gain so not too steep. There's not a whole lot of info about this trail so I underestimated the total distance, originally thought it would be about 8 miles total, oops. Most of the river on the hike up is very shaded, shallow, or steep. Eventually, things mellow out and you get into a nice flat meadow setting with a small stream running through it for a few miles.

Spooky fish, crystal clear water, and the worst mosquitos I've ever encountered. Thankfully we brought our bug nets.

Standard fare for this stream although there were some surprises.

Next day we didn't do much hiking and just a bit of bushwhacking to another nice little stream. Brought the dog this time so a few pools were spoiled but that's okay he was just happy to be there.

Small cutthroat here eager for any dry fly. Nothing of size to hand.
