(I'll spare you the pic without socks)
aye. Wore my super aggressive race shoes which punish you for not running perfectly... which I was not doing after rolling my foot and kind of limp running for half the race. They're still pretty chewed up today even.Got a bit bloody ?
Owwwch.. haven't seen bloody socks like that since my army days.aye. Wore my super aggressive race shoes which punish you for not running perfectly... which I was not doing after rolling my foot and kind of limp running for half the race. They're still pretty chewed up today even.
x2....my feet are so flat I'd be nonfunctional without custom orthotics. When I worked at the California College of Podiatric Medicine, they used my feet for a teaching model for extreme pronation.Owwwch.. haven't seen bloody socks like that since my army days.
I pronate so much I'm not sure a super duper good pair of shoes would help my waddling posterior.
That was a good run Evan. In my experience I found anything over 12k was actually faster in my training shoes, and overall a lot less fatiguing.aye. Yeah I should've wore my tempo shoes. More comfy, less agressive, and I've run much longer distances in them. So would've been the right happy medium. That was a good run Evan. In my experience I found anything over 12k was actually faster in my training shoes, and overall a lot less fatiguing.
Track spikes, 5k, 10k flats, interval/fartleck day shoes, and short and LSD shoes. About as many fly rods as I rotate through in a couple weeks nowadays (Euro, boo, glass, 4wts, 5wts, 6wts).Yeah I should've wore my tempo shoes. Anyone who thinks they have a problem with too many fly rods should talk to serious runners![]()
I actually thinned my roster down a little bit last month. Just down to these now. Seems perfectly reasonable.Track spikes, 5k, 10k flats, interval/fartleck day shoes, and short and LSD shoes. Totally reasonable! Adidas always fit me well.I actually thinned my roster down a little bit last month. Just down to these now. Seems perfectly reasonable.

I've learned to not make blanket statements about brands as the fit/feel changes from model to model, and even between generations of the same model. Sometimes significantly. The bloody feet pic in the first post was my Adidas Adios Pro 3 actually - that's my most aggressive shoe.Totally reasonable! Adidas always fit me well.
I always felt they had a better narrow heel, high arch, big enough toe box last in the training styles. I wore a lot of Asics flats. Always pounded sore legs after a flats race.I've learned to not make blanket statements about brands as the fit/feel changes from model to model, and even between generations of the same model. Most of my distance running in my younger, more fit days was in boots. but, I did wear out 3 pairs of Adidas in one year. it's been so long I don't recall the model, but they were light, fit my high arched, wide as hell feet, and worked for me.Anyone who thinks they have a problem with too many fly rods should talk to serious runners![]()
